Default Black/gunmetal wheels ?

I've been thinking about getting black/charcoal/gunmetal wheels on my AU3 XR8. Wondering if anyone here has any and can give me a rough indication of price (i know it probably varies greatly) - 17s or 18s ?

Are they generally cheaper than the shiny chrome wheels or is it pretty much dependent on brand ?

Also are certain wheels only suitable for certain cars ? I mean can i essentially put any/most 17 inch 5 stud wheels on my car or is there more to it ? I've seen a lot of ads where they specify certain wheels being for certain cars.

I quite like these (for example) but prices are in $US : http://www.gotwheelsandtires.com/cat...oducts_id=1025

I couldn't really get away with less than $2000 (plus new tyres) for similar wheels here in Sydney could i ?

Or you can buy any wheel and have them painted or powdercoated to any colour. That is what I did to my wheels.

different cars have different offsets (how far in the wheel will sit against the bolts) also i think the stud patterns can vary in distance between bolts ie:commodore wheels will not fit falcon (like youd want to though ) but most companies make aftermarket wheels in different stud patterns and off sets to suit pretty much any car. you just cannt interchange is what im trying to say. also, most tyre/wheel retailers will allow you to see what your choice will look like by taking a display wheel from the shelf and sitting it next to your car. all you have to do is ask.

Okay so my wheel hunt continues and i have narrowed it down to 2 possibilities (at this stage) :

One is the Envy MK11 by Speedy Wheels

http://www.speedywheels.com.au/alloy.htm
http://www.speedywheels.com.au/image...y-charcoal.htm

The other are the Axis Hiros going for $2K with tyres at Tempe :

Would love to have a second opinion or two on what you think is better ? Is $2000 a good price for these ? Anyone know roughly how much those Speedy Envy wheels in 18" go for ? I sorta prefer the Envy's myself (due to the rivet looking things around them) ...

My car is congo green.
