Pull the centre console out... 2 screws under the stereo, 2 in the drink holder, and 2 next to the seats on either side of the console... Undo the screw on the gearknob, pull it off... Pull out the console, pull out the t-bar surround, the light twists out of the socket... I replaced mine with an LED parker, works a treat, now blue!

There is an easier way. Just did it in my car. If you open your consol lid. You will find 2 screws on the consol next to the hinge for the lid. Undo these two screws and lift the plastic at the back of the consol vertical. The bulb holder is a bayonet fitting into the plastic. Turn 90* (where is the degress symbol on the keyboard?) New bulb in and fitting is reverse procedure.

Eh? How does that work mate? Wouldn't the other screws still be holding the console in place? |

I think chief is talking about replacing the courtest lights in the back of the console.
I found last time when replacing my shifter globe ... it was a full console out job (have done it a few times now ... so I am used to it ... the annoying part is emptying the centre console). I put a new globe in there ... and it's blown again ... so i have the good job of pulling it all apart again .... FUN.

replacing the t-bar light is a console out job.
to replace the rear courtesty light in the console, i just pop out the lens, pull out the globe and push a new one in though. not too hard though, cause you can push the bulbholder through into the void underneath the console : then you gotta do what chief has described.
