Default JBL speaker install

Thought I'd throw up some photo's of what I got up to on the weekend.

All thats left is a bit of sanding and then cover with some vinyl. Should have them finished in the nexet week or 2 then its onto the parcell tray.

Undecided, blue or black. I'm going to do the entire interior in blue and black (blue being the main colour)

Looks good. Any reason you didn't keep the factory mesh/speaker cover - I'm guessing because of space issues?

They fit nicely behind the factory grille, but ussing them would be too easy.

thats looks good mate that accually gives me a good idea for my doors.

Did u make a mdf plate that fitted to the old speaker wholes? then screw the new speakers to that?

How big are those speakers??

And the way u have it set up there, would it be suitable to suit tweeters becide it?

thanks in a advance

I'll put a counter sunk screw through the face of the surround before covering, to line up with the screw hole in the door card. For spacers, just cut out a piece of mdf the same size as the factory speakers, and cut a hole in the centre for the new ones. You could easily make some to also fit tweaters, but best possition for them is in the a pillars.

oh, and the speakers are 5 1/4" I originally had 6.5" in there, but would of had to recover the entire door cards to keep them and go for the same look.
