Default BIG Issue with L plate log book

Hey guys,
i just found out yet another problem with the new P-plate laws
i need to have 120 hours LOGGED before i can go for my P's
but they never gave me or sent me a log book?
that's really unfair i did not agree to these rules, i agreed to the ones that were out at the time, now i'm 2 and a half months from getting my P's and i have to log 120 hours!!!
the only car im aloud to drive is my own and its going to be on and off the road... so this really isnt fair...
is there an online one i can get???? or something???
because this is just stupid....

as you may have gathered im pretty darn ****ed off.... but can someone help BIG!me out???

Bit lost as to what you mean? If you got your Learners licence they would have given you a logbook when you got it.

First mistake was bringing this online, if your parents know you have done the time then back log it.

Maybe I am missing something but these log books they talk of - can't you just fill in whatever you want?

It happens all the time in adult land with novated work cars...

you only have to follow the rules that were around when u got your L's and for that matter P's.
for example, when you got your L's, if there wasn't a law about having 120hrs logged then you do not have to follow that law.
Same goes for people on their P's.
Thats why from june the (1st?) anyone applying for their L's and P's will follow the new rules.

My family just went through that with my younger brother not getting his P's in time and his car is a 289ci V8 XM coupe. which he can no longer drive when he gets his P's.

So in other words if you get your L's before the 1st of july dont stress because it wont affect you. Its only a recommendation that you do 120 hours if you have alreay got your L's after the first it becomes a requirement for anyone who has not got them already.

You cant at all.
In fact the particular one I went too, logged the weather comdition every day, so if say you back logged on say the 8th of march, and you drove and wrote the weather conditions as "Sunny" and it was raining, they would give you a new book, and you start all over again. Bastard.

Whaaat? Find that a little hard to believe. Just say it was "fine"; and then if they harp up just say thats how you would describe it.

bloody government goes on an advertising blitz 2 months before the new laws come in to cover their butts....

If he owned it before the rules came in then he should be able to drive it on his P's.

Go to the Newsagent and buy a 30c exercise book, and write "my logbook" and your name on the front. It aint rocket science.

You've only gotta do the 120hrs if you get your L's after 1st July 2007, otherwise its only 50, and yes the RTA would have given you a logbook or you were told to get one when you completed the DKT.

The log book isn't just hours either, you have to have a record of certain manouvers and skills completed before you can do the test.

This is how it is in NSW anyway.

you should have gotten a log book when you got your L's.

everybody knows this. surely your mates would have mentioned that they have their log books yada yada. it amazes me how you have gone almost 10 months without realising that you were supposed to have a log book. odd.

Surely you have had to do an assignment where you need to log what you have done over a certain time. Its just like that ;)

Hey, heres an idea. why don't you actually drive for 120 hours and maybe the life you save may be your own.....

Why is it that so many think they are an expert driver the day they get their lerners permit?

You've already had a serious accident as a learner? maybe the extra 120 hrs would hurt hey?

im doing as much driving as possible... but i just dont have the time...

my accident was because of my stupidty and ego... if any of you saw the "accident pics" thread then you will probably have seen the 528i BMW wagon that was totaled....

im no perfect driver but i have learnt a lot of things since my crash, my neighbour has been taking me for drives to show me a lot of stuff (accident avoidence tecniques, safe cornering tecniques ect ect) he is an X group C racer and did race in a few Group A races. helps having someone with that expierince teaching you....
the crash alone woke me up a LOT, made me a much more caucious driver and im constantly making myself knowlegable of situations that may arise...
