Default insurence companies

im wondering how do i go about telling my insurence company (SGIO in WA) that i have moded my car???

all ive done is: cat back, f6 cai, air box to tb piping made from silicon intercooler piping, 20% underdrives and k + n pannel filter, im also getting a magnaflow cat and 4495's put on very soon

will they charge me more p/a now? or does it stay unchanged. Ig i was in an accident i would change the silicon piping striaght away so i doubt i would tell them about that BUT for the other things, CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME SOME TIPS

cheers,
sheld.

Ring them and tell them ASAP.

They could void your current policy, or ask you to pay more for your mods if they deem them acceptable, and within their guidlines. (They may even ask you to take your car in for an inspection)

I wouldn't be thinking that if you were in an accident you could go and change things before anyone notices, this will be hard if you are in a coma in hospital and your mangled wreck is towed direct to wherever.

My tip, tell the truth, the whole truth and drive without a worry.

If you drive a modded car, than prepare to pay for modded car insurance.

You have to be honest with them regarding ANYTHING otherwise they will deny your claim and paying insurance all this time will have been a waste of money. If you give them a way out they will take it. Tell em about the mods your premium will go up (for me this has been about $30p.a. for each mod) - best bet would get some online or phone quotes from other companies first then threaten to switch if they dont remain competitive.

ect ect.

As for changing stuff after an accident, this isnt possible a lot of the time - car might get towed, you might be in hospital ect ect.
