i know with all the factory ford immobilsers/ central locking etc that my ute is sort of safe but im thinking of installing another kill switch for piece of mind..
is it worth it ? and how safe are Au's ?? even if i put a switch to cut out fuel pump, sure it might start for abit.. but that's all the suckers would get if they managed to take it |

i reckon best sensor to kill would be the crank angle sensor, won't even be able to start then.
It's all up to you, i've considered doing it but just haven't been assed enough to do it. Cheers

It might be worth it but i think if they can break in it and actually start it they probally would not take them that long to find a kill switch.

haha i cant be stuffed doing it either.. but is something does happen one day then i will be 'not happy jan' hahaha
i was just looking for something i can tap in under the dash too.. whether or not the BCM has something, as i dont want to run wiring all through out the car.. |

if it's an AU2/3 don't bother you can't start them without the transponder only way of taking one without the key is to tow it

Probably not a neccesary thing on an AU and I reckon it would be a fair bit of mucking about, Smartshield doesnt like being messed with all that much.
If you're really worried, get yourself a good alarm with an immobiliser and whack that in, comes with everything you need, and if its an approved one, you will save a bit on insurance too.

Cut the fuel pump and install the switch with relay. Then get a second switch and kill the kill switch but hide it in a good spot.Evn if they find the obvious kill switch the kill kiil switch will be workng.

put a switch on the relay for the fuel pump. it wont do anything then.
au's take 5 mins to get into. : they re to easy. but i wouldn't think it would that easy drive off in with out a key. alarms are good to scare people off. if you really want to make it hard take out your key lock the steering and pump the brakes pedal until it locks up the brakes.
