Guys, We've got two 2001 Au2's and both have developed the same auto tranny problem!. There is a pronounced delay when they shitft from first to second gear. Could lead to accidents. Anyone else have this prob?.
How can i fix them?. :togo: Cheers!.

The Sr had the tranny serviced only a year ago. The Forte had it done 2 years ago. Both cars are under 200,000K's.

I'd be guessing at low fluid, so a service and fluid flush would be in order. If that doesn't fix it, then it could be one or more of the valves/solenoids that control fluid flow - not cheap!

sounds like the S5 solenoid this controls the line pressure and will result in delayed 1/2 shifts if it is on its way out

my understanding is the S5 is line pressure and effects both up and down shifts. a shift kit alters the S5 signal and it gives a firmer up and downshift

By the sounds of it ... it needs a service.
Seeing as it was serviced over a year ago at least ... it's long overdue for a service. It may have plenty of fluid in the transmission ... but like i found with mine ... the fluid had degraded and is like water (not the correct viscosity to keep line pressure up). For starters ... service it ... your transmission will love you for it ... most common reasons for them to fail is lack of servicing. If problems still persist ... get it checked out further.

Service definitely, 12 months is a fair while to go without one let alone 24 months.

if ur goona get ur tranny serviced i recommend 'aussie car enhancements' they did mine for $120 took an 1.5 to do. and has worked properly ever since.
