Default 200,000 km service...

Hi guys,

Yes my XR has hit 200,000 km's. Very depressing, but it still hasn't missed a beat (for now). Well, apart from feeling a bit like a slug lately, but that could also be my mind playing tricks on me.

Anyway, with the nearest Ford Dealer been 100 odd k's away, do you think your run of the mill service centre should be able to handle the service or should I get ready to go for a drive? (FYI it's a AU2 XR6 HP)

Id say jusa normal service should suffice. I hit 200k a few months ago, I just done:
Oil
Oil filter
Cleaned airfilter
Auto service
Leads
Plugs
Brake fluid
And just generally topped and tightened stuff up.

Looking at your location Im assuming the "nearest Ford dealer" youre talking about is Hillis in Wagga. If so, I think Id rather take my car to a pack of trained monkeys because they would do a better job.

As listed above, do the usual stuff, check your wheel bearings, serpentine belt and generally give the car a good once over. 200,000kms is bugger all for an I6.

I think b2tf might have had some warranty work done there never to return again!!!!.

I laughed when I read his post as it could be referring to just about any Ford service centre.
