about 20 years ago i was at parramatta lakes , and i heard a bit of a scruffle and a shout. 4 people in thier late teens or early 20's got out of a stolen car, fortunately the owner . a bald bloke in his 40's , happened to be there with his family having a BBQ. 3 young blokes got away . the driver couldnt out run this 40 + dude as he was sprinting on adrenalin, all you could see was a shirtless young man with long hairswaying in the wind as he was sprinting away . and a 40 something bloke catching up . that hair became a rope . which he swung the young fellow around and around to get him on the ground . it was hilarious . i didnt even see the police rock up later .

I think the general joust of this thread is that accidents do happen and yeah, it sucks...but that is what we can live with (to an extent).

It's sad how people too often do the wrong thing, then drive off, escaping responsibility.

But personally, if somebody damaged my car, if I saw them again, I would never reciprocate as I would only be pulling myself down to their low, low level.

Even if they are a mongrel, it is still their car and even if it is a piece of poo, may still be their pride and joy.

Now, if that person killed somebody in your family...now that is a different story...

I had a Ford Territory reverse into me at the station whilst I was at work. She skimmed over the top my rear bar and pushed the tailgate in about 5cm.

She didn't have any paper or pens on her in the morning but she left work early to leave a note on my car before I got back.

i only just got my car back this time last week. after a girl reversed out a driveway that a party was at and smashed into my car. replaced the back left quarter and back bumper. just lucky my mate and i didn't get hurt, as we where walking up to check out my new exaust and he moved me out of the way and she came crashing into it. i saw the hole thing centermenters away and saw my pride and joy lift up about quarter of a meter off the ground. supose it gave the new springs and struts a crisen...
