Default New TV series - In The Line Of Fire - NSW RFS

New TV series airs on Tuesday night, following the NSW Rural Fire Service over the course of a fire season. It is only a 4 part series at this stage, hopefully there will be more.

As there a fair few fellow fire fighters on the forum I throught a heads up might be appriecanted.

Starting Tuesday, 18th Dec on channel 9. Here's a outline of the series

Quote:
The NSW Rural Fire Service is the largest volunteer fire-fighting force in the world. Ordinary Australians always on call to save lives and homes.
‘In the Line of Fire’ tells their stories

Bushfires shape the Aussie psyche. Fear of being trapped in a fire or seeing our homes go up in smoke unites the nation. A television first, this gripping 4 part series goes behind the scenes, and with the full support of the NSW RFS, places itself in the centre of this action.

Beyond the jaw-dropping news-flashes of ferocious flames, there are always dramatic human stories that unfold. We meet heroes who battle the blazes head-on, courageous home-owners who manage to save just a few precious belongings, incredible stories of survival and aircraft pilots who fly into the charred and flaming landscape to halt the fire’s spread.

It’s often said that when pushed to extremes the best is brought out in people and this can certainly be said about the fire fighting community. Beyond the inspiring efforts of ordinary folk, In the Line of Fire presents a multi faceted expose on how communities and firefighters pull together in the grip of danger.

EPISODE 1 Tuesday Dec 18th Nine Network
The hottest day in 70 years sees Gosford ringed by three massive blazes and 1000’s of homes under threat. Elsewhere, in regional NSW a tragedy is unfolding for the fire-fighting community.

EPISODE 2 Tuesday Jan 1st Nine Network
Despite heroic fire fighting efforts a home and 3 generations worth of possessions are lost. Elsewhere, local RFS brigades are assisting the NSW Fire Brigade contain a factory fire with huge gas tanks threatening to explode and damage an entire suburb.

EPISODE 3 Tuesday Jan 8th Nine Network
As farmers and the RFS battle to save a homestead, fighting fire with fire becomes the only chance of stopping a wave of flames racing across tinder dry farmland in rural NSW. A separate firestorm is also about to forever change the landscape of Canberra.

EPISODE 4 Tuesday Jan 15th Nine Network
Canberra is under siege as 400 homes are devastated by a firestorm of unprecedented ferocity. Elsewhere a fire has closed Australia’s busiest highway and killed countless stock and destroyed farmland.
