I think the ones that stand out are.
Centura:
1. Exploded the alternator with centrifugal force (those old 6s can rev hard).
2. Ripped the trailing arm rear suspension out of the monocoque.
3. Destroyed all the bits that spin in the gearbox.
4,5,6,7...get the picture.

Kawasaki road racer:
Conrod let go and punched holes through every plane of the crankcase, included pushing the gearbox up out of the back of the engine and bending the head.
When I stopped at the end of the straight and was asked what was up, I reached down into the oil in the fairing and picked out half of a gudgeon pin.

In a previous life I drove (Rallied) a Prince Skyline GT. It used to go well untill the timing chain let go at 6700 rpm resulting in.

Snapped (overhead) cam.
LOTS of bent valves.
High comp pistons with valve marks on them

Dunno about my ute before 86,000 but until 156,000, i've had 2 clutch cables (1 ripped through the firewall.), 1 clutch, a pedal box, a tonneau, 5 poster bullbar, Front left Fender, indicator and left headlight in the one collision with a Roo. 2 new headlights due to the EF/EL Yellowing curse and set of stoneguards because STUPID PEOPLE THINK THE CHEQUERPLATE STONEGUARDS ARE STEPS!!! :

Okay Not going to mention small stuff, that's Just Part of the game.

Built xy GT- milodon gear drive came apart & bent 16 Manly severe duty valves.
melted soldier in alternator & the diodes fell out, Reving to 8500
Bent a phase 4 rod around the crank , putting a hole in a 4 v head & breaking the bore in a 4 bolt factory block. ( head dropping of valve caused this. Don't use milodon valves, they are not 1 piece. this engine had 430 hp at the wheels & it was 1988

XA GT COUPE BLOWN , 2nd drive after 3 year rebulid broke the Snout of the Crank, bending 16 severe Duty stainless manley valves & marking all eight pistions.

aparantly crank takes 17 tonnes of force to break. This was caused when the car broke traction in 2 gear & vibrated the Throttle return springs of the Carburettor's allowing the roller cam engine to free rev untill crank broke, I looked at the Tacho afeter I had turned the keys off( maybe 2 seconds after crank broke to see is coming down past 8500, how high did it rev? lesson 1 use rev limiter with roller cam, especially if blown. :

Replacement was custome billet crank , corrello Rods & Je pistons , manley severe duty valves & MSD 6BTM with rev limiter. :

Melted two blower pistons & the fire ring in competion head gasket when showing off with a mate in the car & doing rolling burnouts above 7500 with 3.1:1 gears about 200 kph I suppose. The car ran 335/35/15 tyres & had 702 hp. :

Obvoiusly this was on a closed road circuit & I was being an idiot just backing off & nailing the throttle.

I won't mention how many axles diff carriers engine mounts , everytime I broke something I would make the replacement the best I could get.

I'm still having fun. :

Clutch, 2nd & 3rd gear syncros – lasted until 140,000km

1 x front abs sensor

1 x seat retrim

2 sets of “track” wheels.

1 x stop watch, 1 x junky air compressor, 2 x tyre gauges, 1 x lap timer

Expendables (brake pads, tyres & brake rotors)

3 sets of front discs, 4.5 sets of Bridgestone R-spec rubber (RE540 & RE55), 2 sets of race pads (Ferodo then Pagid)

Not bad for a daily driver with countless track days (with times that will keep a stock V8 honest) under it’s belt.

Proves to me that if you get a good car new – keep on top of the maintenance (or get it serviced by enthusiastic specialists) and get advice/parts from people that know what they are doing then fun doesn’t have to cost bucket loads of money. If only my next car will be so reliable and stand up to such "abuse".
