I know it is in jest and all.

Clarkson may be great entertainment, but as far as im concerned after reading his newspaper articles he is the political antichrist. He so far to the right, he makes John Major look like a unionist. He's a conservative, populist, pro-military, Margeret Thatcher loving political crackpot.

Ill keep watching Top gear, but i truly hate clarksons political views.

From what I've seen he seems like a decent guy. From interviews and articles and what not, but there's no chance I'd want him running a country.

Yeah I don't think he would do a good job of running the country in it's best interest. He'd probably focus too heavily on the roads and traffic laws and regulations and forget about the rest, so I think I would prefer if he stayed on Top Gear as well.

Exactly what I was thinking. Sure he might be an interesting choice, but he'd have no time for Top Gear, and to hell with that!
