Angry HandBrake Question with Pics

Hi all,

My Dad has an Au 1 tonner,
The handbrake on the Right side adjusted up well and works fine.
Moving on to the left side the pad was Basically none existent and i am thinking that the adjuster on that side doesn't do anything at all?

The car holds up for now with one working good but he carries alot of weight so we need it to be in all good working order.

Here's a few pic's we are picking up a pair of new handbrake shoes this week.

Cheers Craig.

If the park brake shoe on the left side was basically non existant as you say then its been working at some point, probably adjusted up too much?

yeah thats what i thought ,but the adjuster itself has no thread like it depends on the adjustment itself on the right handside.

Looks as though the adjuster is fully DEjusted and frozen (rusted/jammed) in that position.

You need to hold the knurled ring and get the blade of a screwdriver on it's edge (or something else that is a relatively neat fit in the slot) and turn the top bit one way of the other to free it up.

If it's really tight one way try the other way. I can't remember if the L side is right or left hand thread.
