Thumbs up VEYRON at Sandown

http://media.drive.com.au/?rid=36317

Party Poopers will allow the VEYRON to be sold in Australia but not road registered. Imagine the VEYRON Darwin to Alice or across the Nullabor !!!!!

I wouldn't take a Veyron across the Nullabor. You'd run out of petrol between petrol stations.

Edit: Unless I took a ute along with me with a few dozen petrol drums.

Default I want to swap my quad cam for a quad turbo

Does anyone know why it isnt road registerable in Australia ???, considering we have registered Koenigsegg's which can do about 390kph as well as the likes of many upper notch Ferarris & Lamborginis

In regards to Force6's remark on it running out of petrol between petrol stations, If anyone saw Top Gear when Jerermy Clarkson took the Veyron for a spin accross Europe he explained if you ran it continuosly at top speed it runs out of fuel in something along the lines of less than 15 minutes

(Brakes: cross-drilled and turbine vented carbon rotors), might get a set of these instead of brembos for the XR8, does anyone know who is wrecking the Veyron that was crashed in England.

Default They have probably had a few different engines

Quote philstoj: Im pretty sure it was a supercharged 4.6 DOHC enigine from a mustang.

The first one I saw a write up on was a 5 litre Windsor as it was the fact it had the same engine as my LTD that made me like it in the first place, (I am also pretty sure ‘but not completely’ that it was turbo charged as I prefer supercharged cars and I seem to remember this).
However regarding engine types, remember this is not a Ferarri or a Lamborgini, this is a very small unit build aftermarket ‘kit’ supercar built in Sweden, (Koenigsegg is sweddish for knife edge). They have probably had a few different engines. I was told the Koenigsegg that the stigg 1ST crashed then, (with the addition of the rear wing), got the top lap record on Top Gear actually had a new engine that was designed, built & developed by Koenigsegg themselves.

Default Just a couple of different types

Koenigsegg Edition CCX and CCXR limited edition
It features a 4.8L twin supercharged Koenigsegg engine, together with .... Koenigsegg,

Koenigsegg has released official images of its production CCXR Special Edition. Based on the CCX, the CCXR features a body made completely of carbon fiber and is powered by a twin-supercharged 4.7L V8

Koenigsegg drops a duo: CCGT and 1018 HP biofuel CCXR - Autoblog
The CCGT engine is based on the Koenigsegg CCX production engine with the superchargers removed but enlarged to 5.0 litre. ...

Koenigsegg CCX. 250 mph. Enough said.
Tags: Koenigsegg, CCX
Koenigsegg previously had a Ford engine in their CCR that produced a pretty impressive 600 hp to the brake. With the CCX Koenigsegg decided to up the ante quite a bit by producing their own twin-turbo charged engine that produces a mind boggling 800 hp to the brake. This ridiculous horsepower, along with a carbon fiber body allow the CCX to reach a top speed of 250 mph, putting this car into the league of the Bugatti Veyron. With no rear spoiler on the CCX, this car sounds about as safe as base-jumping. All I can say is “buyer beware.”

The Koenigsegg CCR used a modified, Rotrex supercharged Ford Modular 4-valve DOHC ...

The predecessor Koenigsegg CC8S used a .... Sean Hyland pioneered the 5 litre version of the modular 4 valve engine in 1998 for ...

I will concede all the ones I quickly found online seem to use variants of a DOHC engine but if I can find the, "I think wheels mag", that had a group section of a lot of the big supercars when the veyron first came out I will scan it and place it here, all it said was a 5 litre windsor. Only problem is if its not here at home it may be stuck to the floor of the work tiolet

Tiff Needel drives the Veyron around a race track sideways on this season Fifth Gear.

He said it handles as well as any car, its a complete package.

He also found the stability control button hidden under the steering wheel column. He tunred it off and scared the heell out of VW officials watching.
