Great read. Always good to see someone selling who has a genuine sense of humour. More often than not I just want to punch the seller in the head!

Many years ago when our land cruiser got stolen we bought one of those magnas to use until we got a new car, the thing actually caught fire while it was being driven one day. I remember the fire department had to come and put it out after it pulled over (i wasnt in it at the time) and for some reason it was brought home and sat in our driveway for a few weeks. It was well melted

Maybe someone should get him to write John Howards speeches.
If he can make a magna sales pitch sound funny, Lil ol' Johnny's delivery would be the only stumbling block... |

Oh geez, I'm wiping away the tears of laughter... fave line would have to be "The left hand CV boot looks to have been imported from Baghdad but apart from that it should be pretty right."
EDIT: My hubby's grandparents owned one of the first ones (85 I think?) and boy it was a POS. I used to drive it (yes, still in therapy). It would randomly change into gears when it felt like it, and actually selected reverse at one particular set of lights. We named it The Car Of Many Smells cos whenever we were in the thing we smelt weird things... like Milo. Yes Milo. Chicken was also a common occurence, and of course petrol. My father bought a 1990 model, but it has proven to be a reliable and nice car (surprised the hell out of me). Perhaps it's cos he got it serviced regularly, it's a 5 speed manual (so none of those weird transmission issues), and is on LPG (no petrol). My sister now owns it, and it's STILL going strong

Wednesday, June 22, 2005 Tim Shaw has gotten in trouble again — and this time it counts. In February, as previously reported in Out There, the obnoxious British shock jock was suspended "indefinitely" from his radio DJ job for the on-air trashing of his boss' house. Last Thursday night, he was doing his usual 10 p.m.-to-1 a.m. shift at Birmingham-based Kerrang! 105.2 FM when he told pin-up girl Jodie Marsh on air that he'd be willing to leave his wife and two kids for her. Unfortunately, his long-suffering wife was listening — and quickly put up his Lotus Esprit Turbo sports car for sale on eBay. "I need to get rid of this car immediately — ideally in the next 2-3 hours before my cheating ******** husband gets home to find it gone and all his belongings in the street," Hayley Shaw wrote on the eBay description page, which as of Wednesday afternoon was still up. "I am the registered owner and I have the log book. Please only buy if you can pick up tonight," she added.
