Just a word of advice guys and I'm sorry to put some doubt into your minds.
Its russian roulette with those shocks, track record is ordinary....
It's hard enough making your $$ get some known brands ala Boge,Gabriel,Monroe's etc
Anyway good luck which ever way you go.

Too true. The first time I ordered from that Ebay mob that sells the Ultima shocks, they sent me the wrong ones, IRS shocks instead of front struts. FYI the IRS shocks fit perfectly on the front..... and makes the car ride about 2 inches off the ground Had to phone them up for half an hour trying to get the correct shocks AND convince them that I wasn't paying the postage to send the old ones back and send me the correct ones. Halfwits.

Thanks for the warning Bluedriver. For me its either the Ultima's or the Boge's. Just depends on how much extra for the Boge's.

SL King Springs all round.
30mm Whiteline.(front is now super firm)
If you have any doubts about the handling
of this set up talk to Peuty....
He was with me on Mt Tamborine the
other day. I had a guy in a wrx trying to lose me in the
corners.... he didn't have a hope.
Only cost me $1,300 for parts and was worth every cent.
Will get back to you tonight with part numbers.

Thats awesome. Speaking of Subaru, I want my AU to handle as well as my Liberty did when I owned it. So if I can get it to be as good as, if not better than my old Lib then I will be over the moon. hehe

Those part numbers would be greatly appreciated.

But I'll stick to the tried and true Koni's.
It is worth adding that if you are going
to lower the car spend a little extra on a
heavy duty front sway bar as it really makes
a massive difference in the handling of the car.
This dudes on the right track, Koni shocks are just brilliant.
Ultimas, Gabriel, Monroe, etc, they all very similar and just ok.

Even the Koni reds are better than this lot, but the real special ones are Koni yellows.

Front shocks 8241-1166SPT
Rear IRS Shocks 82-2468
Sway Bar BFF21X
Front super lows KFFL-57SSL
Rear super lows KFR-67SSL
This was the package I went with.
These may be Fulcrums part numbers
as it was Fulcrum in Brisbane that I
brought all of my gear off with
exception of the sway bar links and
ball joints. I got those from pedders
as they are the best price and
quality that I could find in Brisbane.
Hope this helps guys.

Picked up 4x brand new King SL springs for mine yesterday here in Brissy (not Fulcrum) for $250 after a young fellow in the office screwed up the original quote.

Had them in my last Fairlane.....
was less than impressed.
I have always used Koni's
in the past and will never
again use anything but.
At the end of the day it depends
what you want out of your suspension.
I want performance and as yet I have found
nothing on the market that comes close
to a Koni's and I have had them in
6 different cars over the years.
Anyone who has ever had them will
definately agree with me.

i want a decent ride as well as good handling(as much as a fairlane can handle haha) which the boges i have in mine have delivered floorlessly

None taken. Compared to the actual asking price, I was more than happy to pay only $250. I have no doubt there's a lot more to be saved if you know the right people or are in the right place.

I put Ultima Shocks in the rear of the ute ... had stockers on the back of the ute previously and they needed replacing.

I tried the Ultimas and they have held up well over the last 50,000km ... they were a hell of a lot thicker than the factory items too.

Put it this way ... when loaded up ... the ute actual controls the weight well ... no weight-shifting through bends and minimal roll as well (wasn't fun previously when a big pallet on the back.)

So far for the price ... they have been better than expected.

When riding empty or close to it .... they are very compliant for a leaf-sprung rear ... and rough country roads are fun ... less skip than factory as well.
