Default Do i need anything else to 'install' a pod filter?

Ok, well i have bought a pod filter and just haven't had time to get around to trying to put it in.

Before i put it in, i wanna make sure that all i need is the filter itself So i dont get agro

So, is there anything else i will need? I have an i6 with a 3 inch intake, standard airbox.

I've read through some of the threads, people have not mentioned anything else needed besides the pod (and perhaps cutting a corner off of the airbox), so yeah.. Just wanna make sure that i dont need any adaptors or whatnot

Cheers

Could just remove the air box and slam the pod filter straight on, gives a great sound under load...

Takes in a bit of heat though...

This would be a defect in NSW.

Won't hurt your motor at all, it's just a waste of time having it suck hot air.

If it was me I'd shove it inside the front bar
if I was going to go to the trouble of taking out airbox.
Thus eliminating the issue of hot air that Daniel mentioned.
Not to mention it'll sound throaty as.

Mate is this an impulse thing?
1. why bother firstly?
2. have ya done some research first? of course you need other things- adaptor for 1 some gaskets, bolts etc
3. There illegal- is it worth it if ya defected?
4.Why does everyone thinks pods make ya car go faster or something? lol
You'd be much better getting the following- A tickford au xr8 TE50 intake- ford might still have em or ebay? Also get a ba/bf xr6 turbo/typhoon intake and cut a hole in your air box behind your lights, and get a k&n panel filter ;) you see much better gains, and no dramas with the boys in blue- which is always a good thing?! i hope that helps?

Are you drunk?

Why bother? Cos he want's to.
Since when are they illegal? What he is asking is perfectly within the confines of the law.
A Tickford AU XR8 TE50 intake. What is that? You mean a Tickford snorkel? If so, you actually mean a BA XR6T snorkel. And whats that got to do with what filter you use?

1. Well i have a pod filter sitting in my room.. So i figure why not

2. This is my research

3. Illegal? I am not going to have an exposed pod filter, i am going to have a pod filter inside the standard airbox, which is very legal indeed

4. I already have the XR6T snorkel and a K&N panel filter

Cool? Thx

ayeyou, This is an engineers drawing of my intake setup : , i am running a custom 3" pipe. When running into the airbox i just removed the standard rubber 'thingie' (but can't remember if it was an ef box lid) with the four bolts and had just enough room to fit the three inch pipe into which now my pod connects directly to. any questions about the drawing feel free to ask.
