Default Brake rotors

Hi all,

My pads are worn down and my rotors are original, worn and warped so I am looking to replace them.

She's an AU3 wagon.. Basically I'm considering my options on whether to go slotted or not. Does anyone have some reccomendations on whats good bang for buck? She's just used as a family car with a little towing here and there.

Cheers

Matt.

Being a stocker with just family dutys I would save the money and stick with the stockers and some good pads (as you have) thats all I run on my XR8 with plenty of strip and street time got 80k on the clock now and still on the originals

Hmm.. Can get standard rotors in the RDA brand for $178 for all 4 corners. Hopefully freight isn't too costly.

slotteds for DBAs are usually $120ea from supercheap approx(at least S1 items are)

bendix ultra premium.. ive never heard of those...

at coventry auto all we had were bendix General CT's, Ultimates, Metal kings, Advance
(metal king and advance are superseded to the other 2 and nobody would use metal kings if they liked their rotors at all lol) i think there may have been 2 other models but not the ones you have mentioned?

Yeah, thats a significant increase in price on the rotors. $178 plus freight versus $480.

The pads are made specifically for supercheap auto. From all that I've read and seen they're little (if anything) more than General CT's in a different name.

$248 incl delievery for the 4 standard RDA rotors.. I can get NO NAME slotted rotors from fleabay for probably about $50-60 more.. Tough choice.

Can slotted rotors be machined if they develop any warp?

Yes you can, just some shops get bitchy and dont want to "wreck" their cutting tool to machine them.

Looks like I've found some standard rotors for $215 (max, may be slightly less) posted to my door.

Happy chappy as I got my Bendix ultra premium pads for a shave over $100 for all 4 corners from supercheap when they had a big sale on.

Matt.

Grabbed the rotors.. Should get them sometime next week.

Thanks for the offer mate I've got another mate who's also offered to lend a hand, so I'll see how things go. I'm considering getting the fluid changed out too for the added peice of mind.

All I know for sure is that I need good working brakes within the next 2 weeks. :P
