Default BA front on AU

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, but i'd like to know if its possible to transplant a BA XR8 front end onto my AU XR8 - i've damaged some front panels and would rather upgrade than replace - anyone seen this done before?

Am I correct in saying that the "BRUTE UTES" are all AU's with BA fronts?...
(and yes a ute, you'd get away with, but an AU sedan??)

The bodies are similar enough that it should work... I'd just make sure you have a TS50 style rear on it as well...

Being new to the car modifying scene, I am just wondering what the BA front would look like on the XD-XF Falcon? Would it be possible to do this without extensive work (probably not, but you never know)? Dont bite my head off, as I am new to the whole scene and this forum. Thanks for any replys.

I wouldn't imagine so.

The XD-XF series are a COMPLETELY different shape to the BA/AU.
If you did manage to get the front changed, it would look so stupid it would not be funny.

There's an orange XD ute with a BA front end and a 460BB! I can't remember which magazine I saw it in though (Street Machine: Fords, PFM, or Street Fords?)

Looks awesome!

I believe it's in Street Machine Fords (#4) and strangely enough it does look pretty tough.

I was just thinking, because the BA is the toughest front that ford has come up with, and the body of the XF is great, meshing those two together should look ultimately tough. But thats just my opinion, I may be completely wrong. Thanks for your replies.

That's just wrong IMHO though I can appreciate the workmanship.

It was bad enough that Ford itself grafted the EF/L front on to the old warhorse create the XH and now this guy has done a BA version.

Leave the old XD/E/F/G utes original. They look much better that way as far as I'm concerned.

Definately. the front is all smooth and curved, then the **** end is all square. doesnt match in my opinion. As raptor said, the EF/L utes looked, well, a bit misssmatched then the BA front looks shockin.

i also like the background of that photo, that VS on the towtruck.....where it belongs.

The XD ute just looks very odd to me, but each to their own.

Camshere, as an alternative have a look what can be done with the AU!! AWC is a site sponsor and should be able to help. This car is a member on this forum as well. It has the T series Pursuit ute body kit and a BA style buldge.
