Default AU V8 cam upgrade advice

I have an AU 1 V8 which has an annoying coolant leak coming from between the timing cover and block.

I figure while that while the front of the engine is off I may as well do the cam.

I'd like to know what other people have done for cams and springs.

I dont really want to be pouring money into this thing as the 5 litre is a great engine as it is. I don't want to be changing injectors (I have orange) or intake etc, just want to know what will easily work and maybe make a worthwhile improvement.

Your advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Crow 621371 and the Crow valvetrain kit is a good upgrade without going over the top.

What can I expect from this?, does the idle sound good? increased fuel use?

I currently use 8L per 100km on the freeway at 110km/h.

Do I need to have the computer retuned or add something like a piggy back chip?

I run the 1371 cam in my motor ,it's pretty mild but i would get a flash tuner to help get the motor to run correct .I was told i could put it straight in but i got idle issues but after getting the flash tuner it ran great. If only running 1.6 rockers you may get away without changing the springs.
I ran with standard spring for a long while before upgrading,
As for milage how heavy is your right foot :
