Default lcd display dte

hi can anyone tell me why the dte on the digitail screen gives wrong read out of km one munite it says 250km next minute its 650 km
on a au3 sr wagon

More info required.

Were you moving at the time? Was it between turning off the ignition and turning it back on and in what circumstance?

The obvious is that you just filled the tank but if that's not the case then I'd say it has something to do with the fuel gauge. Did you park on a hill or something that caused the gauge to read alot higher then switch off and when you turned the ignition on again it read differently?
Was it just that you went out on the highway and the DTE progressively rose from 250km to 650km? If that's the case it's just the DTE recalculating your milage against your (then) current fuel usage. There's a few different possabilities depending on circumstances.
