Good on you for being vigilant enough to go outside and see whats up.

Funny thing is when he ran away and ripped his shirt off he forgot his bike (probably was not his) and the cops got that. I gave the cops a good description of him so it would not supprise me if he's done it before and knows to get rid of clothing

I went and played paintball on the weekend and I was thinking I would love to have one of these in the house because they sting a little bit when they hit you and being semi automatic it would be quite fun (pitty a gun license is needed for these).

Yes it is odd...

I am quite surprised by some of the responses here, a bit knee-jerk imho. Do you really want to sink to their level? It's just a break-in, let them take your stuff if it means you aren't going to get seriously hurt or even worse, killed.

It's just possessions, they don't really matter in the scheme of things. You can always claim on insurance and/or buy replacements (in most cases - but really, who's got a Van Gogh?). It's better than being in gaol for beating or killing someone...

And certainly preferable to being dead all over.

i hear what your saying, but some things can't be replaced, you know centimental stuff

I see your point but I also had something very important in the house which was my family.

Oh yeah of course they are the most important thing, but if you are peaceful then most burglars would not get aggrivated and do something rash, like hurt you or your family. Well, that's kinda what I would HOPE - geez, I am so peace-love-mungbeans I even make myself sick...
