Its low tech, simple, cheap, lots of torque.....turbo option (ecoboost).
A higher torque 3.7 litre version of the Duratec V6 will be used in F series in the next model year, which should be later this year. Ecoboost version as well I think.

The 3.5 will also be fitted to Mustang to replace the old 3.8 litre V6 boat anchor from next model year, as well as the Coyote. Seems like Ford have finally decided to upgrade the Mustangs engines now that it actually has some competition in the form of Camaro and Challenger.

Mustang hasnt had the 3.8L V6 for a while, its been running the Cologne 4.0L V6 since 2005.

Either way its still massively outpowered by the 225 kw DI 3.6 in the Camaro, so the sooner its ditched the better.
