AU3 remote - lights are working, but nothing happens.

i tried to fix the spare au remote today as it wasn't working, no lights and no response.

when i cracked it open i noticed the little plastic platform thing the battery is in didn't sit into the circuit board like it should. so i put it back where it belongs and the lights worked.

now i have tried the remote and the light works on it but there is no response from the car, grr. no unluck/lock/boot release.

just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how to fix it. i have already bought one replacement remote last year for the car, don't want to have to buy another... hmm, wondering if i could frankenstein one up out of the old dead one and this one..

Try reprogramming it, Put the car on i think acc or on position, and press the rear demister button 3 times within 5 seconds, the car should cycle its locks indicating its in learning mode, then press the lock button on your remote.

If that don't work, wreckers should have remotes on the cheap (er).

are you able to solder the battery holder back to the circuit board??

you need to both remotes at the same time. Very easy (its in the manual even)

I had the same problem. Soldered back into place and lights up but no go.
So tried to reprogram the car but it won't work. Have done it before with this
car and many others so know what I am doing but for some reason it won't go into
(for lack of better wording) program function.

Guys I had the same problems lights on the remote would work but it doesnt do anything this all of the sudden after i tinted my car on the weekend... ive checked all the fuses and all that.. but reprogramming it how Scotty85 (Thanks man) mentioned worked perfect..

car was on ACC and i just pressed the rear dimister button until the door locks cycled and pressed the lock button, now it all works again.. so thanks for that..

My remote insides have desoldered themselves.. must be a common fault

Yes it is a common fault mate, i must have soldered up around 20 of the buggers by now...

I'm more than happy to help. Honestly, I've only ever had this issue with E-series and AU1 remotes, the damn battery terminals get massively corroded from what looks to be moisture getting inside, lots of fun cleaning off

Funny thing.......I only just put a new battery in mine after a BCM meltdown

Didn't realise the battery holder is supposed to be soldered in tho ..... same thing, worked when battery first placed in, then wouldnt work at all ...... realised battery probably moving off contact, so I cut a small piece (6mm by 20mm) of some adhesive backed 4mm thick foam I bought once on a whim, stuck it to inside of back cover and WOO HOO ......works great
