OK lets get one thing straight, speed kills.

Just because it is a Merc or BM does not mean you will survive a crash at 250km/h.

Quote:
Surviving a crash is all about kinetic energy. When your body is moving at 35 mph (56 kph), it has a certain amount of kinetic energy. After the crash, when you come to a complete stop, you will have zero kinetic energy. To minimize risk of injury, you would like to remove the kinetic energy as slowly and evenly as possible. Some of the safety systems in your car help do this.
......
In a crash, even after a human body comes to a complete stop, its internal organs are still moving. Suddenly, these internal organs slam into other organs or the skeletal system. This "internal collision" is what often causes serious injury or death.
Now back to the cars; BF GT HO mmmmmmmmmmm

Seriously, do you really think that the Holden engineers sat down & come to the conclusion that 110km/h is the top speed of Australian roads, so we won't over engineer the safety of the structure, and stuff the export market they'll be happy with whatever they get.

Wake up & smell the roses on the other side will ya.

Of course there is a difference, but not "light years."
Toyota came to the conclusion that since the highest speed limit in Oz (bar NT) was 110, they chose not to bother tuning the suspension past 140kmh for the latest Camry. Really goes to show that they are the cardigan car company.

To give some balance on the issue I would not push a Ford that hard either, as it is not designed for it.
Actually most of the occurances I mentioned are not recorded on speed bowls. You've spoken to the Ford engineers in regards to the high speed stability and such that they've designed and tested to?
If so, please publish for us all to read, maybe some of us are voiding our warrenties by using our vehicles outside of the designed parameters.
