See if you can find a 2.3L Pinto Turbo engine from an 80s Mustang or import one from the states?
I'm thinking it should bolt right in

Your dead right......Im just going to drop he motor in and run it it how it is for a while and slowly pull all the modern crap out of the interior.I want a sleeper, stock looking with widened steel wheels and chrome hub caps......Something i can cruise around comfortably and teach these lolly pop eating kids in there yellow r34s, a thing or too. Got a ways to go though Dont know why i didn't pull the motor and do the engine bay. Cant wait to get this thing on the road.

Yeah it was pure lazyness.I've had a motor and box out of the car too many times and couldn't be stuffed at the time. The old she'll be right didn't quite pay off......I just threw the old manifold on because the ram tubes would fill up with dust.
The mod plate is for the motor and box.The previous owner sorted it.Is it not supposed to go there?

I'd love a Mk 1 Cortina. I had he chance to buy a Lotus replica years ago but I bought a Capri instead.....Now I don't have the room for one. Maybe one day.
Is there a rack and pinion steering conversion you can do....Its something that has always put me off buying a Cortina. I don't know why. |

there are a couple of conversions made in the UK but they are pricey and would more than likely not pass engineering here theres nothing wrong with a steering box in good nick they still use them historic race cars lotus and the like |
