Cobra: with sylvester stallone in it, has an awesome ford mercury in it, love that car.

If this thread has been done to death then maybe car movies of today that could be a classic or worthy to stand up with their inspirations.

Deathrace: I thought that was brilliant with the way they did the camera work and held off on the CGI, using a lot of the tricks from the old school.

Death Proof was another that used similar techniques from the classics like two lane black top and dirty mary crazy harry.

+1 Le Mans, excellent film. It's been a bit tainted by my flatmate starting to have really noisy sex during the silence prior to the race start.

I watched Running on Empty last week, had to be one of the worst movies i've ever wasted my time with, but i did love the cars in it!
