Default au xr8 gearbox change

hey all. i have an au1 xr8 and the auto is playing up S5 i think but anyway ive picked up an au 2 trans out of a 220kw rebel and wonderd if this box is any stronger than the au1 xr8 box? and does anyone know how long it takes to pull a box out of an au? thanks

Same box.

Haven't done an AU, but did an EL (not so different to AU) in my garage, on 4 X car ramps, and apart from the 1.5 odd hours to undo and then do up the top starter motor bolt, it all went fairly smoothly. From memory, total time was around 15 hours over 2 days; first day remove, secon day was the install, including servicing the trans, toppong up with fluid etc and then we were good to go.

from memory, only the 250 utes (series 3 pursuit)had different boxes (manuals at least).

ive been told it shouldnt take a trans shop more than a 3 hours to do the change over so going that way with it.
