Mines a 3" single Big bore Lukey exhaust and It does the job well. Not only does it sound awsome but yes the performance is alot better the the original twin that was on it. Its very responsive now and im not sure how many KW it has increased.
My mate went for twin and it sounds too tiny and vibrates through the car.

Goodluck

Twin is the preferred system as it suits the motor better.
Mine is and runs very well, sounds tough as by many comments from forum members and friends.
I suggest your friend has a problem (not mounted correctly), mine and many others I know have no vibrating issues whatsoever.
Dyno results I have seen in most cases dual gives you more power than single.

Do a search there have been heaps of threads covering this.

Talking

Fair enough each there own.
My Mates is definately not loose it just sounds in comparison to mine.

Everyone asks wether I have done anything to my car because of the sound.
I do like power but I was looking for the roar of the V8 and thats exactly what i got. Also Money was another issue.

cheers

I have the 3" lukey system on mine too, it sounds really good and performance was great too. Price is around $5-600 from memory.

I am another with a 3" lukey system. Cost was $420 (for ute).

I'll be buggered if my car is actually making anymore power with it, but it sounds better ;)

I prefer twin systems, not because of the pipe being better flowing or sounding any better, rather I believe dual mufflers will always flow better than single mufflers.

A 5L AU XR8 will work best with a dual 2 1/4 system.
