I went to a sports school so during school i was reasonably fit, not that you could tell. Once i left school i went to a personal trainer twice a week and the gym by myself 3 days and got fairly fit. Once i started working full time (6o hours a week) i realised what a waste of time it was all that hard work to spend money.

Up untill two weeks ago i ate takeaway everyday for lunch, dinner and no brekkie. I mean macca's KFC, hungry jacks so the real good sh*t. Since then i stopped drinking coke (1-2L per day normally) and tried to cut back on takeaway, havent had takeaway durning work since i started and lucky to hasve had 1 L of coke. Have 5 weatbix in the morning and some toast, a roll or something for lunch and takeaway for tea. In 2 weeks iv'e dropped 6kg's. If i can drop another few kg's i'll be happy.

Cheaper and easier than going to the gym, im fairly solid to start with so all i want to do is lose the excess KFc buildup.

I try to go to the gym 3 times a week, start with cardio for 30mins then do a high rep weights routine to get ripped. So far Ive lost a stone, but I plan to lose a bit more body fat then start some more serious tone work. I dont want to get bigger, just more defined.

Well done! That is quite a feat. Congrats on doing so well. Believe me, after a year of no junk food, you taste all the fat and sugar if you go back and have a burger And it's quite gruesome really.

I have a weight lifting routine which goes for 4 days a week (plus eating well all the time [and 6-7 times per day]). I love going to the gym and especially body building. I am nearly 17 so i don't have the house duties and cooking like most of you guys do so it makes it a bit easier (although i am a full-time VCE student and work 25 hours a week).

Gym 4 times a week: using a 3 day split routine, +
5 x 45min cardio sessions a week chosen from either Powerwalking, Boxing, Mountainbike riding or Cardio cycle.

I go through phases. As long as I stay within 50-54 kilos I'm a happy girl.

Netball once a week is about it for me. Was going to the gym, but a bit hard to find the time with work and single motherhood.

Having a hot boyfriend does help though : :

He didn't hijack the keyboard, I typed it in as he couldn't type with one hand as the other one had a beer in it.

...On the subject of keeping fit, does anyone know of any good (and affordable) gyms in the Miranda area (Sydney). I'm thinking of joining a gym atm.

Regular clubbing was my best exercise. 8 hours or more in a daze while dancing slammed the weight off me. Since stopping I've put on 10-15kg's. It sucks.

I've not long gotten back into the gym tho. I try to go every morning with a combo of cardio and weights. If I don't get back home too late I'll also try to hit the gym in the afternoon. Being a 7min or so walk from the gym is really helping.

Previously I did cycling in the morning as well. I was also going to get into dragonboat racing (rowing) but the need to work and get extra pay is taking priority.

The odd pilates or walk round Parra park is also done in an effort to shed the kilo's. My prob tho is diet. If i could sort that out I'd lose weight for sure.

I go to Fitness First but they can be pricey.

Its probably best to go to each one, suss out what they offer and see if you feel comfortable in the surroundings. Maybe even go a few times as a casual visitor to see if it's your thing or not. Worst thing is getting stuck in a contract for a place you don't feel right at. That's a big waste of money.

Hey Bindi

It was only a joke,(just wanted to see how people would react) I occasionally get his beer for him. But he does want to train the daughter from a young age, is 10mths to young??

Any way my fitness routine is taking daughter for a 45 min walk nearly everday and I am joining the gym this week with a friend, so we can motivate each other to go.

My idea of getting my man beer is going through the drive through bottle shop, popping the boot so the attendant can put the slab in, and getting him to carry it inside. Either that, or just take him to the pub where they have it on tap, pull up a pew next to the bar, and let him go nuts.
