a mate at work has an AU forte (think its series 2) and as soon as he turns the car on, the thermos run non stop... he has also mentioned the temp guage has stopped working... i cant really tell you much more sorry..
my guess was its something to do with the guage not working so as a fail safe the fans remain on? any ideas that i can pass onto him so he can get it sorted? cheers

Not exactly sure what type of sensor they run but the coolant temp sensor may have something to do with it.
Does the gauge move at all or is it stuck on the cold position? |

I had the same problem in an EF with the thermo's on full when the ignition was switched on, i took the car to a sparky and the problem was diagnosed as
Carried out scan test and found faults in inhibitor switch, transmission fluid sensor and low voltage circuits. Also found earth output from terminal 91 at the ecu but not at the transmission. By pass wire from engine to transmission circuit. Fans were ok. |
