What do YOU think are the most popular classic cars in Australia... I suppose the answer I am looking for is the most popular - which are the most popular cars 'bought' out of Just Cars / Unique Cars / Carsales... wherever... That happen to be classic cars?? Classic cars can be I suppose 25+ years... Classic/Collectable/Unique/Rare cars - all very similar... So my 5 cars are based on what I think are the most commonly bought classic cars... Example... XY GT-HO phase III - not a commonly bought car... Yes - one of the most desireable... but for 1 Phase III there would be 200 Mustangs bought... I suppose now looking back - my OP was a big vague (bit like me)... So I hope this now makes sense...

a) De Tomaso SI 200.
b) Series III Lamborghini Espada c) E49 Charger. d) '71 Plymouth Roadrunner 440. e) 71 Mach 1 Mustang 429. I already own a pretty mint 1963 EH Panel Van and as much as I love it's character, if this particular car hadn't been handed down from my late grandfather to my late father and then to me, it wouldn't be in my exiting or dream collection. i.e I wouldn't go out to buy one over many other classics.

There are too many variables and possibilities here.
Based on the criteria set out in Loftie's clarification (i.e the most POPULAR) the list would have to include: Mustangs - generally '64 - '66 MGBs FJ / FX Holdens '70s and '80s Mercedes (for someone who wants a classic car but has no passion) and maybe something really collectible like Morris Minors or VW Beetles. My personal wish list:- Aston Martin DB5 / 6 XA Falcon RPO 83 Hardtop '59 Galaxie Retractable '32 - '35 Ford Roadster (original side valve not a bloody hot rod) 300SL Mercedes Roadster or maybe a Gullwing Then if we had Aussie cars only I'd have to replace the Aston Martin with an XY GTHO Phase III The RPO '83 would stay of course the early Ford V8 could stay 'cos they were built here a HX - HZ Sandman would go in place of the Benz (ouch - someone let a Holden in the shed), and I'd probably have to let another Holden in - HK Monaro GTS327 - but only if it was Warwick Yellow. Too hard to narrow it all down, I think I'll just stick with what I've got. |
