I'd be asking the supplier.
I don't mean that as a smart @rse answer - but it's not a thing I have ever seen on an Aussie engine so best to go to the horse's mouth as it were. |

we purchased this from FoMoCo ive asked the question but as usual no one knows anything there. The old part numbers did exist tho and have been superseeded to one part number. I was wondering if anyone has original plugs still in their engines to may be confirm the ones i have in this crater or may be some Motorcraft info regarding the E and EG what they mean, coz when u look at them there is no physical differences so it must be a internal thing of the plug

Yes my 100.000klm factory plugs were the same. I just replaced them with a decent NGK plug. They were all the same and it's been fine.

Look in your owner's handbook - you'll see that it lists the 2 different side's plugs as being those your crate engine has (ie. E and EG). Both my LTD and my Fairlane books show that (but of course they don't say why).

Had my 220 since new and the plugs were Sided, just had a look in the book and they list Right as AWSF32EG and left as AWSF32E then on the next line under it says Service AWSF32EE for both sides I just run the same both sides now with no problems

Jeff this info asks a T3 question - 220 & 250 have the same heads but the the spark plug configurations are different 220-AWSF as for the 250-AGSF
AWSF plugs only have a short thread with a blank shank to the the taper seat and AGSF plugs have full thread to the taper seat, so this tells me that the 220/250 heads may not be the same !!

That's correct - but the extent of the work done to them for the T3 has never been documented in detail - most people assume only that some mild reshaping of the ports was done to ally the shielding of the valves. But maybe there was more to it. The last time I went to Ford for plugs for one of my T3s they tried to sell me 220 plugs. I know the issue of the different plugs for the T3 has been raised many times so maybe they have now finally updated their catalogue - you say they now show a different plug so that's a little win T3 owners have had.

i havnt checked fords listings as to the listings of plugs, i just checked with the part number from original plug which has been superseeded a few times, i then pulled a plug out of my T3 being curious and there different. With fords parts records today there not flash so its a bit hard to see what was originally on the parts list as soon as a number is replaced the old numbers are removed so you cant get an idea what was originally listed for these, the only way is from original plugs and see where the supsession trail leads and see how they have listed the new part numbers which i will do tommorow - we need a head off each engine side by side to have a good look.

have followed the Ford supersesion trail and the AWSF plug has been replaced by AGSF plugs which have a full thread the difference now is just the heat range so it appears that 220/250 must have the same spark plug seat recess in the heads.
The AU3 XR8 plugs appears you can still buy them sided: AWSF32E has been replaced by AGSF32PM and AWSF32EG has been replaced by AGSF32FM As i suspected the parts listings have no reference to the original plug part numbers only the current replacement numbers. |
