About 10km up the road, mum hit a BIG pothole at night, this is what it did:

I'm going to write a letter into my local news paper, and a letter to my MP

Is that Horsham by any chance??

Can see what you're talking about and why you'd be a taddy p'd off...as for your mum, I'd be sending a bill to the council as an attachment to the letter... :P

They probably wouldn't pay up, something about 'undue attention to the road', however, the argument could go that the council is not exercising their duty of car to their constituents...but as we're coming into an election year, your MP might try and help you out...good for a giggle anyway...

close enough... :P hehe. I knew I knew the road from somewhere, and unless they've fixed it, the road going into Woodend isn't much better...

Hey Road Warrior - the Office of Road Safety in WA comes under Main Roads. It was only with DPC during the previous Labor Government because the former Minister for Transport did not want it in her Department.

  • Driving offences
  • Speeding (=>10km/h over the limit)
  • Speeding (<=10km/h over the limit)
  • federal licencing
  • federal registration
  • modifications to vehicles
  • learners permits
  • probationary permits
  • Uniform national driving standards
  • double demerit points - half the financial loss
  • 5 yearly refresher courses for those under 65, two years after the age of 65
  • training for younger drivers to encompass all aspects of road safety and cautionary measures to prevent complacency.
Alright, I thought it was about time to resurrect this to enlist some help from the passionate people on the forum. I'm in the process of drafting up a letter to Paul Pisasale to try and get him on board with this issue.

This project is taking a really long time, and I do have quite a bit of information on hand already, however, it requires more. If anyone is willing to raise their hand to give me one, it would be greatly appreciated. At present I'm trying to find all current statistics for each state, and am drawing a blank finding info that goes back pre speed cameras, links go nowhere, and it goes round and round in circles (the usual government stuff). I've spent the last week going through the TAC crash statistics - dating back to 1951 (this data is basic only) and am only able to get info from 2005 for fatality statistics, and am only able to get 2 years worth of serious injury stats.

If anyone can help me out, finding the stats for the other states, it would be greatly appreciated.
