There are also issues apparently with adapting up the BA shifter to go into the AU. Maybe I should go manual as well?

i found the thread, but they didn't actually say what series au they used... so that being the case, it may well fit with a s1 / xr bonnet http://fordforums.com.au/showthread....+motor+into+au Last edited by bodes-sh; 31-03-2011 at 08:13 PM. |

Yeah sometimes it gives a very faint rattle at higher revs on hot days. Hard to tell whether it's detonation or something else. If I were keeping the engine I'd be playing with the temperature compensation on the timing curve.
But after a few chats with Joe from CMS and a couple of wreckers, it looks like a heart transplant is starting to take shape. Early days yet, more details as things progress...

So what are you going to do now ... twin-cam????
I know he's playing with a B-series engine transplant into an E-series at the moment .... and that should all be sorted for a drive-in drive-out conversion.

He has 4 E-series lined up for that conversion, NA twin-cam bolted up to the existing 4-speed auto. I'll be going a bit further...
