Default Rebuilding steering rack escort

Hi all,
Just looking for advice on rebuilding the rack on my Mk 2 Rs2000. In particular anyone who has used the type of rebuild kits offered on ebay and the like. There are different kits with different bush material eg, plastic, brass etc. Are these easy to do or do they require specialist gear and setup. Looking thru the gregorys manual looks pretty like a straightforward job.

Yep smcka......
Just need to get the tension on the rack balls/track extension correct with a weight gauge.
I've heard stories of some plastic kits not lasting very long.
