Looking for broken AU2/3 premium sound head units

As the title says, im after broken 6 stacker premium sound head units.

Mine is broken and ready for the bin, ive taken it apart twice and fixed it but have ran out of spares.

If you have one with cd's in it i can take out your cd's and return them to you.

Willing to pay cash and postage.

These are getting harder to find, im sure many end up in the bin.

any reason why all the trouble to keep factory HU in there?

cost me $170 and does a much better job, and will outlast the car

I've got a non broken one from an S3 XR8. Replaced it with a single DIN unti with bluetooth and iPod connectivity.

I really like the look of this. Would it work in the standard dash? I'm keen to get more info. Be a bonus if you retain the steering controls.

yes it does fit 'ok' in the standard dash, as we fitted the next model up to an AUII futura, but you have to be inventive in ways to hold it in the space. We Screwed on the rubber plug from the old HU to the new one

the JVC HU i have isnt steering wheel friendly, but the next model up JVC KW-XR616 is, and only $20 more. Steering wheel control loom is around $150 off ebay, not really worth it imo

Thankyou for that. I was thinking of upgrading my head unit mainly because I want Bluetooth capability. I really like the look of yours.

The standard unit is decent enough, looks good, and keeps the car original.

No offence, but that looks horrible, as most aftermarket car stereos do.
It's doubtful it would outlast the car too, even aftermarket stuff breaks.
It's even doubtful it would do a better job.

Well sometimes your opinion is not the only opinion. The original post was about finding stock premo units - not seeking your opinion on them and why.

And I am with Sox, I think that after market one is ugly - but that is just my OPINION. I am certainly not going to take offence when someone expresses an alternative one.

I wasn't trying to rat on anything you said, but I do disagree with all of what you said.

The standard HU's are pretty decent, not the best, but they work and sound ok.
They also look excellent and blend in with the standard dash.

Sorry if I believe a $170 HU won't outlast the car, but you get what you pay for, and $170 doesn't buy you much.

I guess I could have been more tactful and said your HU isn't to my taste, horrible was a bit harsh.

^ I think you'll find the wood grain and screen are the FACTORY Sat-Nav options... Only change there is the HU...

Im also chasing factory HUs as well, but my needs encompass single CD & AU1 premo units as well.

So I have the same offer, but this is not a competition. Ill take anything anyones willing to give me & ill pay all associated costs. This includes boot stackers & their looms too.

I dont give a rats earlobe about what people think of the Factory HUs. I love them & wont dare put an aftermarket job in my AUs.

I think this thread needs a tidy up, 5L's after some Stock Head Units which I've helped him with. I don't recall him asking everyones opinions on what type are better.
