If you break into the 9's you need a Parachute.
If you do 140mph+ you need a chute, doesnt go buy the time but I guess if you are at a non ANDRA track you can get away with it.

4 point Harness required at 11.99 or quicker or exceeding 110mph.
Put the rule book away. Safety rollover loop if running 1o.99 or quicker isn't it, cant find my copy atm.

Parachute depends on two things:
Have you done over 130 mph without 4 wheels discs?
Have you done over 140 mph with 4 wheel discs?

Tail shaft loop is supposed to be mandatory except on front wheel drive cars.

Eventually they pulled out a calculator. I pity anyone attempting to bring up a child in the school system at the moment.

From what ive heard teachers are not allowed to correct the spelling and gramar of students anymore. If an essay is submitted with terrible spelling etc then the teachers can't take points away.

It varies from state to state. For example Vic isn't an ANDRA state anymore. Most strips in Vic run a variance of what ANDRA specifies.

If you run a 10 @ Calder, you get told to go home if you don't have a cage.

[edit]In Vic a 10 = Half cage with a cross brace behind the drivers and passengers seats. The cross brace can be bolt-in (removable).

True, and your overall point is both well made and relevant. There is nothing worse than trying to make sense of some of the rubbish posted on this (and other) forums.

Not judging your IQ at all, there are some extremely intelligent ppl who have difficulty with reading and writing.

You might want to read the rule book again, it says "four wheel brakes" not "four wheels discs". So if you've only got brakes on the rear wheels (IE: altered, dragster, etc) you need a chute if you run over 130mph, but if you've got brakes on all four wheels then you need a chute over 140mph.

Tailshaft loop is mandatory for cars quicker than 12.99 but really it's recommended for all.

Laminge: You'd think that most people would take their own safety seriously but I had a guy abuse me when I used his car as an example of what NOT to do. He was running mid-9's at over 140mph at Calder with no cage and he thought that was OK. Some people just don't get it. They put our whole sport in jepody because if they have an accident and kill themselves then we all suffer.

There is just no telling some ppl that the rules are there for their safety as well as the spectators and officials and other competitors...when I was involved with the drags and circuit, motorkhana scene as a cams official...if you vehicle was borderline, you got a caution to have it fixed by next meet...if it was past borderline you did'nt run and I made sure it was recorded in their log book.
