Default Whats this clip thingy ?

Hi folks,

Came across this recently close to manifold/engine oil dipstick region.

Any idea what this clip like thing and and is it normal for it to have such a gap ?

is it at the front passengers side of the motor, looking down through the intake manifold, between number 1 & 2 cylinders' intake runners?

looks like the distributor blockoff plug and the hold-down bracket,
the gap looks normal to me.
the AUs dont have distributors

it is were the distributor used to go it is a very old block design ford adapted
