as soon as i saw the word 'expert' i didnt even bother reading the article.

it seems the australian media want local manufacturing to completely die off so they can get all their 3rd word sweatshop products even cheaper.

i love how the dont understand anything about the economy or the automotive industry AT ALL yet they pretend they do and get these so called experts in to boost their own warped veiws.

Don't you just love it that Greg Coombet.. the Federal Industry Minister... the same 4 eyed goon ex union nodding thug who wants us all to accept Carbon Tax.. which now is resulting in things like a 15% fee local trip runs and your council rates.. and 10% on your power bills.. No wonder industry can't survive.... or how about a 400% increase in refrigerant gas.. that is needed just to service the local grocery shop freezers.. or MacDonald ice cream machine.. and is now slowly eating everybody's spare money they had... Where is the benefit.. No new Trees.. or cleaner creeks.. .. and the Holden support they give.. or ANY Support.. is only to save THIER Butt.. not ours.. not the workers...!
.. the same bunch of goons that said the Resources Mining Rent Tax would solve all out problems..... Now comes out and takes about HELPING INDUSTRY.. .. they are a bunch of thieves and socialist scammer's....& just look how corrupt they are in the mind too... the Federal Speaker.. dirty minded creep.. you would not allow him to remain in YOUR family business.. or your corporate.. but last week .. they promote him..
God help our workers & our kids if we have to live much longer with this is the corrupt excuse for Federal leadership.

When you have a government who's sole worry is to stay in power above all else its no wonder everything is hitting the fan.

the sad part about is, people(voters ) seem to be almost numb to being given the shaft by successive party`s in power over the decades, in other country`s if party X told a big blatant porky to the public, the whole country would be marching in the streets, the scum bags would be drummed out in a very short time.
where as here a lot of people are happy to be lied to if they receive some small pay off by the offending party X, not a lot of moral outrage here sadly.

Well, they got voted in so as a majority you can't really complain because its your fault if you really want to generalise.

I guess there isn't really much choice, its like choosing between a kick in the balls or a punch in the face.

I can see Holden battening down the hatches like Ford is doing and hanging on until VF arrives next year.
Controlling production through November and Dcember through planned shutdowns and down days as needed.

The press will be all over it as a sure sign that the apocalypse are upon it but we've seen and heard it all before with Ford...

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/10/27/g...for-new-model/

Check out this post to the article
Quote:
Because "This new model" is "to be based on a global platform", the only global platform not currently tied up in 2014 is the Zeta which underpins the Holden Commodore and the Chevrolet Camaro.
This announcement ties in perfectly with the end of the model cycle of the Holden Commodore and due to the scale of the investment, it can be assumed will be the end of GM manufacturing in Australia.

This announcement is basically a death warrant for the Australian car industry, because without GM and Ford who are hesitant to continue the Falcon, there will be no underlying service and parts industry.
I wonder if he is an AFF member?
