Default Fords @ 'Downshift' Brisbane 17/2/13

Met up with forum member WillH (WAS 310 ) and ISF mate Paul, at the downshift meet this arvo in Rocklea.

What I always thought was a "rice only" event turns out to have plenty of local gear, a few Euros and Yank and some collectables.

Apparantly there were over 1000 cars there last month and it must have gone close again...just mental...

Cops had a field day on exit with a defect stop 100m up the road ...

Lots of interesting cars but also a lot of junkers. Just wander for hours checking out each others cars then head home... $5 well spent.

Took a few pics of some Fords there, any members ?

Pics

OK , had to warm up the shutter first before leaving home forgive the self indulgence

Then onto the car fest...

Any one on here ?

Was warned about this sort of thing coming a month or so ago by someone who should know. He told me to make sure my car was legal.

Seems they are ramping things up in Qld, so expect they will be there after the car show, meets & maybe even cruises etc..

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.
