I'd say now that we've started the "Z" series plates that will give us another 16-18 months before a format change.

I suppose another good option would be AAA-00A like the white background NSW plates.

I still think going back to AAA-000 and re-issue plates no longer registered is the way to go.

I heard there will be an announcement regarding the replacement plates along with the slogan chosen for them some time this month.

Was at a Vicroads office today to remove my personalised plates and replace them with new ones. I got ZUF-717.

I asked the nice young lady behind the counter if she knew what the new sequence was going to be. She said she couldn't tell because the Premier will make the announcement soon, with the new sequence not being 7 characters. I asked if it was going to be 3 numbers followed by three letters.

Her reply? Something like that

She also said that the new sequence starts in July.
