After receiving horrendous service from Dale I then tried Sinclair and Cumberland Ford for warranty service and repairs: they are all the same: each privately owned, buying the car from Ford Aus and treating customers like crap after they get your money. There is a systemic problem with Ford dealerships Sydney wide; if Ford doesn't want to die in Aus then it must take back control and run it's dealerships itself, that way you get rid of these fly by night merchants such as John Stark (Dale Ford) who come in, run the business into the ground (in this case broke) and destroying Fords rep. This forum is littered with stories of dissatisfied customers from countless dealerships - it's not just one or two.

That's why people blanket ban buying Fords again.

And "settling" for a Hyundai/Kia is actually nowadays a big step up from a Ford, in both quality, equipment and customer service and satisfaction...

Well statistics prove otherwise. Customer satisfaction surveys prove otherwise too. Diagreeing doesn't change facts. Customers are voting with their feet: Hyundai/Kia sales in the passenger car market are way above Ford in Aus YTD. Simple.

Jefferson's also own Brighton Hyundai and Brighton Nissan, thus the Hyundai's in the Braeside holding yard.

They've just renovated their Nepean Highway showroom, so I don't think the Ford franchise is going anywhere in a hurry.

Mate if if you are coming on to a ford fan site, then constantly bashing the brand, expect resistance. Simple.
You might be better served going to kia/Hyundai forums.

If you go for a drive along parramatta rd (starting from around costco & head towards city) you WILL find many dealerships closed down! and still no one has leased out asny of them!

I hope thompson ford goes down ( not spare parts though) Un-reliable.

No doubt reading these many, many comments on how incompetent, rude, arrogant and negligent this dealership was will perhaps shift any rational person's view on this once great Ford outlet....

Dominelli has been at Kirrawee for 15 years: they closed the Hurstville store as Ferdie (on the council) attempted to change building laws in the area so he could develop the site into high rise apartments (as he did with the site across the road). As an aside, Dominelli quoted me $21,500 for my CL Fiesta driveaway, the most expensive quote from any dealership by over $2K. Most of their business is fleet. With the death of the Falcon their days are numbered.

Essentially, Ford dealerships are dying because of their product and of their service. The Modeo is a great car but priced out of the market - it isn't selling. The 3 is killing the Focus. The Fiesta, while being superior to the 2, is being outsold 2 to 1. And the Falcon, private sales wise, is dead. The Ecoboost model is too little, too late - anyone considering a 4 cylinder family car will buy an Accord, Mazda 6, Camry, Optima etc long before a big, old Falcon.

The service I've experienced from Dale, Sinclair and Cumberland Ford (Sydney) is precisely why Ford in Australia is doomed: time to buy a Hyundai/Kia I think.....
There seems to be a common denominator with all your rants....Have you thought that you may be the problem!!! Just saying

Read again what he said, specifically "with all your rants".

This is a post from a new user ? I doubt it.

Yeah, pretty odd comment from someone who has just signed up this month.

Either way, this thread ran its course over a year ago.

Just to add to this thread, I have also been informed that Alto Ford in Artarmon has closed as of last Monday as well.
