Does Fords next supercar need to be, a Ford?
Lincoln is rumoured to be pushed globally...and what better way to do that then build a halo car, in the form of say...a 6.2 litre TDi V10 hybrid?

The LFA chop does look good as a Lincoln.
I think you're right, may be Ford should replicate Toyota, get Lincoln to do all the halo work, be the prestige and hyper brand of the family. They should be pumping dollars into Lincoln and turn it around into an American Lexus (yeah I know the origins of Lexus) and leave Ford as the mainstream car maker.

I don't find that Photoshop attractive, or appropriate for Lincoln.

A high performance lincoln coupe would be beneficial to the brand wouldn't it? Draw attention to the brand and change its perception of re-engerneerd fwd ford platforms...

Lincoln isn't seeking that market, sadly. Lincoln is looking for young, affluent females. Or at least that is what has been announced.
Lincoln hasn't had a coupe since the Mark VIII, which died in '8, I believe. Why did it die? Nobody was buying it. Lincoln needs to replace the MKS with something substantial and elegant, a modern equivalent to the '61 Continental (I'm not suggesting retro styling—I'm saying a vehicle that exudes the same aura) and build from there. There's a bid out for a new presidential limousine. I'd like to see Lincoln get back in that role, also. For decades Lincoln was our unofficial car of state. Lincoln should shore up its luxury credentials before worrying about performance. Performance has never done much for Lincoln. The '52–'54 Lincolns were fine performers, but didn't sell well. The recent Lincoln LS was intended to compete with BMW over here. It didn't. I don't even know that it did very well against its cousin S Type.

By the way, how big of a sales spike was there for Falcon after the introduction of the R Spec?
