when you insist the mechanic locks it after he's done with the service & parks it out the front. OR you can't bare the thought of leaving it there in the first place so you say you'll just hang around & have a coffee, even if you know it'll take all day!

When a bird poops on it & you drop what your doing to wipe it off AND you refuse to park under tree's.

When your ride is parked on the street out front of your house, you hear someone talking as they walk past & you just have to look through the window to make sure it's OK.

Even when it's parked in a garage adjoining your house, the roller door & the car is locked, but you still have to check that you locked it before you go to bed.

When you return from a shop after parking in a carpark, you do a "walk around" to check for dings.

You open the door for you beloved wife or GF, not to be a gentleman but to ensure she doesn't ding the door.

You KNOW you love your car when you insist on "no drinks, pet's or gravel roads".

When you spend an hour cutting something up so it'll fit in you wheelie bin on rubbish day 'cause you just know that a trip to the tip means driving on gravel.

when you're driving along on a clear night and you hear the "thunk" of flying fox **** landing on your car so you pull off the road and get your torch and water bottle and paper towel out of the boot and rinse it off right then and there...

As funny as these all are, I shouldn't be laughing because, well, I do the same. Here's some:

...you take a drive thru the parking lot first to scope out where the corner stalls are at the end of aisles and NOT under a parking lot light which birds tend to congregate on and you know what happens under those lights right? pass.

...you already know where the widest stalls are at certain places like restaurants and shopping centers.

...you know where security cameras are too, just in case.

...you make sure you have a new water bottle in the car for those times you need to wipe *birdie poop* off microfiber towels.

...you wash said microfibers separately in hot water without any fabric softener or dryer sheets. *scratches*

...you ask for a cloth diaper from a diaper cake when at a baby shower for a friend. Yea friends laughed too.

and another one:
...you park your car, then change your mind and move to another stall, then sit and wonder if this is where you should park it, or if the first stall was better after all. or maybe the one over there *pointing there* is the better? as friends all say "NO PARK HERE ALREADY."

Haha yep - if you can walk away from your car and not look back then you bought the wrong car! ;)

Also...

When you slip on the clutch or something not overly good, you stroke the steering wheel and apologise to the car!

When you aggressively eat scrambled eggs on the front lawn to show the birds that crap on your car what you are capable of.

Mines a garage queen.

- When its raining you insist on taking the wife's car
- every time it's up in the air you see it as a good time to degrease EVERYTHING underneath the car
- when your wheel wells are generally cleaner than 90% of cars on the road. All the time.
- going more than 2 weeks without a wash makes you feel like you're neglecting your car.
- washing your car with one bucket instead of two gives you nightmares about swirl marks.
- you drive further behind the cars in front do avoid water spray / dirt / stone chips.
- leaving a bird dropping on you car over night is "totally unacceptable" and must be removed ASAP.
- you have separation anxiety when separated from your car.
- you cringe at the thought of driving down dirt roads and don't go above 20km and you don't care about the 10 cars you're holding up.
- the thought of taking your car down to the beach and getting sand on the carpet scares you.
- nobody eats or drinks in the car.
- the thought of spending 4 days claying, polishing and waxing excites you.
- it's easy to get into an argument over why Collinte is the best wax money can buy
- you can write a list this long withou even thinking!

When you'll drive for 15hrs straight just to pick up that part you want, no, NEED just so you can make sure it doesn't get damaged or lost in transit or you'll fly half way across the country to pick up another example of exactly the same car in exactly the same colour because the first one is worn out.

I hope others can relate to this, I have just bought a BA wagon, to replace my old faithful EA wagon, and I'm getting a bit of a lump in my throat just thinking about selling the EA, and I'm not joking, it's parked next to the BA, I can't stand the thought a car wrecker dismantling it, it seems it would more like an autopsy at the wreckers yard, it will still serve another buyer quite well for local driving.

Lol i can relate to most of these.
When i built house in 2009, i had the garage lengthened by 1m widened by 1m and higher by 2 coarse so i could comfortably get the bronco in. funny thing was it cost quite a bit more and half the rooms in the house had to be 2 coarse higher as well. all because of a damn bronco.

After working 10 hour days 6 days a week, you still find time to spend a few hours washing it straight after work. Ready for Sundays day off ;)

When you still love it after living with it for 10 years, even more than at first.

When you embark on a massive project on a realistically worthless car, all to for fill a 9 year old dream and save your old mate from being left behind because it isn't capable enough to share even more adventures.

And when you know that you'll never, ever part ways with it.

@ Mr. Grinzy - awww, that's true love <3

...when you avoid driving on certain roads/streets because you know there's construction there.
...when you take the offramp before the one you need to take just to avoid newly laid asphalt.
...when you just have to switch lanes because there's a humongous piece of metal slab on the road up ahead covering up some road work that's been done and not finished.
...when the rule "NO SAND IN CAR ALLOWED" is a rule for everyone!! even after going to the beach. Makes sense, right?

You know you love your car when you order your son in his own house to move his BA XR6 turbo out of his own drive way and onto the street in order to park yours up higher in the drive way to avoid trees from dirtying your car with their yellow flowers and pollen!!! Dad got it washed and waxed a day before

True story happened yesterday. My dad loves his 2004 BA Fairmont....

...when you do laps in a carpark in order to find that 1 vacant spot between 2 very expensive cars,'cause you just know the drivers of said cars will be careful not to ding ANYTHING!

When you've just repainted your car & before you leave it in a carpark you write down the rego numbers of the cars next to it...just in case!
