Good discussion
My pick would be a xr6t for around $10k. Modern enough to get any parts easily, fun car to drive and in years to come, I think the i6t will have a cult following like the VL turbos did. I don't think they will appreciate but I think they will hold value I think older cars have potential to appreciate but hard to find a real tidy example and parts will be rare. Many of us a visionary and speculative about future prices, but if we are not willing to pay more in the years to come for these cars there is a good chance others have similar thinking. |

AUII XR8 Rebel might be had for around $10k. If it holds value or appreciates is anyone's guess

70's f100, but any car that you use will cost more in up-keep than what it apreciates

That XE Ghia is not a factory 351, there was none. Most likely a Factory 302 and stroked or he is telling fibs.
For me: EL XR8 with full body kit (the latest ones with the 185kw engine) in mint condition. AU3 XR8 Rebel XR6T, some BFs are coming down close to the $10k mark. |

AU2 TS50, had a goooood look at one before settling on the Mazda (don't hate it's a better daily drive although considerably more expensive). Very underrated car (for those not into Fords), arguably one of the best sounding V8's around, push button steering wheel shifting auto. May still get one later on in life to putter around in/on.

Would personally love a Brock EA. There is one on ebay atm for 9990 last one ever made. However it looks very tired for what they are asking. Well thats just me personally.

I would have bought an FG Ecoboost.
I normally buy cars from an auction to get as good bargain as possible. (Pickles / Manheim..) |

I have changed my mind slightly now
didnt realise you could get an AU2 TE50 for under $10k i think that would hold the value the best and still drive great but in auto form will be a cruiser not a bruiser if you want a manual and fun driving maybe a BA XR6T or AU2/3 XR8 I was looking for a BA2 GTP for my next car but thay are $20k, I could get an early TE50 and an XR6T for that money and then have my daily (TE50) and weekender (XR6T) mmmm......

Sorry for my posting above. The cheapest FG Ecoboost available at Carsales at the moment starts at $20.000. (That is a 2012, with low km on it) Anyway that is twice the amount discussed in this post.

Was a Cobalt Auto. Original, little rough and a little rust, $7500.
Still a decent buy.

If it was a manual I think it would manage mid/low 14s. I raced an evo 9 and it did a 13.9, so there's a comparison.
