V8 Macks have a very sexy sound, they are as unique as a 903 and early 2 stroke Detroits, but the Mack sounds the best

Mind you the 14l Scania V8's sound very similar, in fact I believe the Mack blocks and the Scania blocks were made in the same factory

it possible, Saab and Renault may share techknowledgey.

I think the bark from the mack is more firing order, as for 903 bird scarer.. the VT was deeper note, 210 cat sounds well too.

For me it's the Cleveland 351 for sound.
I have heard rubbish ones like with single exhaust.
Not so much noise like but it's the way it sounds and the mechanical colliope and the smoothness or how it pumps out the power.
It's more so about when you are driving it as to the feel and sounds it makes

A holden 308 just does not have it sorry to say.
My brothers dog sat down in the pass side foot well in his 351 and all was fine but one day she was down there in my 308 and when i flattened it, you should've seen it's eye's and little legs go full bore up to my bros arms and we still laugh about that and that was say like 25 years ago.

Most engines sound good a 7000 rpm like even them old Escort RS2000 Rally cars even the Toyota Celica twin cams. love them on dirt roads flat to the boards.

There is NO better sound than a 4V Cleveland complete with extractors and a set of Lukey Mufflers no 308, 350 chev 340 etc comes close just ask anyone who watched them race or someone who owns one

Jeez I don't know. Goof question. I have a dvd of race footage from back in the day with video of Geoghans super falcon racing bob janes ZL1 69 camaro and Beecheys monaro. The camaro sounds pretty wicked as well. High revving big block.

I suspect you are mixing up the RS2000 with the RS1600/1800.

If that’s the case then it’s hard to beat the slap, slap, slap of aftermarket wheel spoke cards.

The purist will always swear by the timber clothes pegs, me I happy to convert to the newer plastic style so commonly available today just because of their extra durability?

Always liked the Windsor myself, but a Clevo sounds more animal.

To go tougher you have to add 4 cylinders and dispense with wheels, what a glorious sound:
