Don't look at me...I'm still trying to figure out why we make a "hero" and "legend" of the common horse thief and cruel and savage cop killer Ned Kelly...

Apparently he wasn't that big of a criminal as he made himself out to be.

I didn't say I look up to him.

But the movie and book were entertaining.

I think as a crim, he was a good story teller, I think some people take his stories as 100% factual rather than partial fiction

he lived in a world most of us dont, and hopefully never will truly understand. the fact is he is now gone and the fact is he has left a young one behind. i dont look up to him but did enjoy listening to his stories and reading his books and thought his movie was amusing especially the lime glaze xagt getting a little cameo! only chopper knows the truth.....most of us have kids and i can think of nothing worse than leaving behind a wife and child at an early age....

some people although not living in that world, may have some contact with some of it and know what is factual.
One fact is he paid his dues, owned up to many things others would continue to deny and entertained many people along the way, he was also a father, so a child has lost his dad.

I worked with an ex prison warden for a while. We often talked about things to do with jail, crims etc. One thing he always said was that there is not much difference between those inside and those outside.

Really? I haven't killed, maimed or robbed someone? Not everyone is bad ..... there are more decent people in the world than bad and those that are behind bars most probably deserve to be so. He was a thug, a character and a good story teller which does not equate to being decent person. No RIP from me .....

I feel sorry for his friends, family and fans but in saying that he was criminal. I know we all break the law in someway or another but I have no sympathy for murderers and rapists etc,

He mean't something to some people, he mean't nothing to others. The ones he mean't the most to is his wife, his children and his friends and family. They know him on a personal level. We know him from his legacy and what was written about him. Of course he'll be missed.

No R.I.P from me either. regardless of who he did in , the fact remains that he was a crime figure and lived off the proceeds of crime in his early days. I have known plenty of "characters" over the years who spun the same sort of story and sounded quite believable , however when the heat was on they were nowhere to be seen .
It is the ones that don't advertise that you should be worried about .

In that 60 Minutes interview, it looks like he had bad jaundice before he died. Look how yellow his skin was.

Yes I know how he died............................

Saw the interview. Incredible how he got away with the extra murders he wasn't convicted of and reluctantly gave a rough clue of where he buried his last victim. I bet a search site is being established near a football field in Casino for the body of the bikie leader he claims he killed.

I personally think killers shouldn't be looked up to, even though the ones he killed were criminals themselves. I'm led to believe he never targeted randoms.

Interesting to see Jacko's comments on his "mate".
The guy was a criminal, thug and murderer...why is anyone posting condolences, irrespective of how many he "left behind", or how much furphy he could dispense..pleeeaaase!
