They screw up a bit for me but not as often as everyone makes out here. If I went 10 times it would be once or twice.
Main thing is removing the pickle for my son (which I would eat anyway) and lettuce for my wife.

Several years ago they seamed to stuff up more often than not. But over the last few years it's been pretty good.
I prefer to keep away from the places as much as possible these days. If I want fast food I'd rather go somewhere else. |

I wish fast food restaurants would stuff up the price and undercharge just as often as they stuff your order. You'd actually would not complain about it as much I would say.

Im not a fan of maccas, kfc, red rooster or hungry jacks food, i cook for my self & im loving it. Only time i go to them is to take a leak when i drive away from home, because chances of a service station not having toilets are high. The stuff i seen & heard about them put me right off for good. Oh i do buy a cold coke of them & that's it.
Order of one medium coke cant go wrong with that order

I was driving to Melbourne for the GP in March and in two different towns (Campbelltown and Albury) both of them missed out on the main part of the order... eg Big Mac was missing from a err, Big Mac meal!
Mind you the head office complaints line is pretty good at giving a refund. So no real complaints in the big picture.

Back home they used to stuff it up every second Sunday morning.
Plain sausage mcmuffin with an extra patty, extra cheese, a slice of bacon and a hashbrown always seemed to turn into an egg and bacon mcmuffin. We always got a refund and a replacement meal though, and it happened that often the manager put up an instructional "how to" because he got sick of dealing with me (we were drinking mates, and we were both way to hungover to deal with it). Oddly, the instructions stopped it after awhile

I dont see many young staff at McD anymore, most seem to be 16+ (with an increasing proportion of late-teen/early twenties). KFC OTOH, they are getting crazy young, and its invariably a disaster.

its coz its cheaper to hire kids under 18. Means more $$$ in the owners pockets come tax time and training them is quick but not necessarily efficient. I knew of quite a few people personally who were hired at 15-16yo and working reasonable shift amounts and then the hours quickly declined to 1 hour a week the week they turned 18 due to minimum pay regulations. This forced them to quit to look for another job which is exactly what McD, KFC, HJ's etc what you to do. For every 18yo that has to quit, there are 5 new school kids wanting a job for extra cash to take their place.

If you want a laugh here's what you do.
Got to a Mc Donalds drive thru and order a large big mac meal with a medium thick shake. Your order should come to $9.10 Give them a fifty dollar note, two two dollar coins and a ten cent piece. Then sit back and watch the chaos as they try to figure out what you've given them. They're calling managers and everyone trying to work out your change. If you want an even bigger laugh take your Mc Donalds order and go to the local boat ramp and enjoy whilst watching people try to reverse their boats into the water.

For all I know I could get nothing of what I ordered and something else entirely since I only usually have it when I'm out on the town at some ungodly hour after a few drinks with mates :
It is funny though how many people go out of the way when it is wrong or of low quality. My brother called them up raging at them one night and another family blocked the drive thru for a good 20-30 mins complaining. It was just funny to me. I do remember that last time some bloke swung his bag in the air and it him me in the head then it went all over the shop. He tried to get a replacement for free. Ahh good times. |

I found KFC would ruin my orders on a regular basis, McDonalds hardly stuffed up mine. Just luck i take it. Then again, i ordered straight off the menu and not like '' can i have a Large quarter pounder meal, no salt on the chips, no ice in the drink, no pickles or onions on the burger and with the quarter pounder can i have McChicken sauce instead ketchup and mustard ''
I avoid the franchises now and try and hit some Old school Fish n Chip shops for burgers.

I've had them stuff it up a few times but not enough to give a stuff about.
Coming home after a fire call a few weeks back I was still in my duty ware and the girl at the pay for you food window, was all thank you thank you (it was the week of the big fires) then I got to the get your food window and the guy there was the same, (i felt like sitting on a 5c piece and dangeling my feet off the side) then when I got home I find out they forgot my coleslaw I couldn't go back and ask for it after all that fuss

The best one was walking into Sunbury KFC and getting the distinct smell of weed at the counter.
Got my order right though, so must be working. |

The Mildura Maccas are pretty good as far as orders. I hate mayo so I never have it on my burgers and the rare occassion if a trainee is on then they might stuff it up but otherwise it's good.
Mildura KFC on the other hand, They are a pack of idiots. Consistency is a good thing in fast food resteraunts but not when it's consistantly stuffing up customers orders. Mildura Hungry Jacks is good so too is the Red Rooster. The Mildura Dominoes Pizza joint are another pack of idiots...So much so that I haven't bought a pizza from them for over 12 months and probably won't again either.

Generally it seems that most of the stuff ups are on special burgers and extras.
I have had fast food in every state of Australia and several other countries and if you just order one of the set meals there are usually no problems, even if you have to point to it on the wall if they don't speak English. I don't eat the pickles either but its not hard to spit it out, pull it out throw it on the ceiling etc.. There is a chain in USA where you can only order a 1, a 2 or a 3. Lines move really fast... KFC annoys me when they don't give you a wet wipe towel, they seem to be getting scungy on giving them out. AND they are half the size of what they used to be. |

He might miss the "hold the pickle, add more cheese, only half a squirt of sauce, no sesame seeds" If he has 6 different burgers to make in 2 minutes, no chance on your special order. Then there is the chance the chick at the counter grabs the wrong B/mac as there are 4 rolling down the chute, some guy misses out on his pickle and is also peed off. Not sure why you'd even waste you breath on giving a special instruction on making a burger. |

Don't worry people you soon grow out of wanting fast food once your 30ish and by 40 Macca's is something kids do or people on vacation.
