Pretty much the new Mazda 2 in concept. Can see the 3 style highlights and if you squint a little Audi A1. Good looking concept. Mazda certainly kicking goals with the styling of late, 6, 3 and now 2.

The concepts never really seem to translate in production so well though. The Mazda 6 concept looked great but when it made production it looked ho hum, I was really surprised the first time I actually saw a new 6 as it didn't look good, especially the rear end. They just tamed it enough for it to lose it's magic. I think this concept will do the same.
But looks are in the eye of the beholder, other people might think differently. |

Mazda can do no wrong at the moment. The new MX5 should look pretty mean with the new style. Honestly the mazda 6 high spec, whatever it is, is a better looking car than a G6E imo.

That Mazda red is an awesome colour.
We nearly bought a Mazda 6 but the way it turns off when you stop left me unimpressed. The auto gearbox is a little slow on up changes especially when compared to the ZF. Good torque though & paddle shift to speed up changes if needed. |

Mazda has a habit of knowing what the customer wants and doing it.
They also know how to build a competent, comfy car that does everything it claims on the box, but manages to avoid the Toyota-style "white goods on wheels" image and feel. |

Yes...as much as I like "the modern look", with some of their designs, I do tend to think that a few of thier recent efforts belong to the school of thought that says "The best thing about driving them is that when you're inside you can't see what the thing looks like..."

The new popular cars in our fleet. 7 of them in various specs. Sedans, hatch and wagons. Well appointed but YAWN what a plain and annoying drive. I now remember why I HATE front wheel drive cars.
I am 6'2" and it feels squishy inside. Positive points. The Bose speakers. Cool sound. Everything else is a gimmick. Maybe it's the gimmicky ads which sell them it certainly isn't the satisfaction from driving them. Just my 2 cents |

You can turn off the idle stop (i-stop) feature if you don't like it.
So you can't use that as an excuse not to buy one. |

So this is what happens when an Audi A1 and Mazda CX5 give birth?

^^ You'd think the salesman would point that out.
The auto is slow & lazy compared to the ZF26. I won't tell my wife about the i-stop feature as the BA wagon she now drives gets banged up at the supermarket. I'd cry when it happened to a new car. Even if it is only a mazda |

I'm well aware concepts are nearly always changed before they go into production but whatever they did to the 6 screwed the look of it. The concept is awesome, the production car has none of the magic for some reason. At least they did a better effort than Subaru did with the WRX concept, they completed stuffed it. Production car is rubbish.

All comes down to how much freedom the designer has, some concepts are just too far fetched to make a feasible production car...

To me, the new 6 is one of the most attractive " non premium "euro cars on the market. Massive fan, if they did a performance model, I would consider it against the up and coming XR8. The build quality of my 6 has for far being faultless, event after an extra 45AWKW of modifications. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, with their relative sales success, I suspect the buying public also like the new look/concept they are adopting. Not to mention their after sales service experience is of a higher standard than the majority of their competition .
